Russian Scolars Without Borders.
The fate of Russian scholars dispersed around the world, including republics of the Former Soviet Union, gives yet another testimony both to the pitfalls and advantages of globalization. Many of them have turned into “independent scholars,” without any affiliation, trying to pursue their research on their own, cut off from any institutional support or academic community. Their age, their scholarly merits in the past, their social status in the countries where they settle and their academic goals at the present – all these may vary. It is for them that we set up a new organization Russian Scholars Without Borders, to provide these scholars with support, professional or financial, to the extent the growth of our organization will allow.
Russian Academic Forum Without Borders is open to everyone wishing to participate in it, to everyone for whom Russian language remains the language of thought and research, or to foreign scholars who value the new opportunity to conduct academic dialogue with their Russian colleagues.

Our main goal, however, is to give forum, the means of expression and academic association, as well as the means to display their formers works and to announce their current projects to those Russian scholars who are left without institutional support and academic fellowship, or affiliation. Our site aims at providing the needed academic milieu and collegial fellowship necessary for a scholar to thrive, and at gathering Russian independent scholars and those who wish to support them.
The site provides complete and unlimited academic freedom for its participants. The only criteria for publication are the participants’ scholarly competence, professional responsibility and willingness to respect their colleagues and listen to them.
